Yes, Amani is a Derrico. He is the son of Deon Derrico's brother Chris Turner.

In episode 2, the Derrico family received a voicemail, which was shocking news for Deon and GG.

The voicemail says, 'My name is Amani, and your brother Chris could be my dad.'

The anonymous man, whose name has never been heard by Derricos, contacted them and revealed he could be the son of Deon's elder brother Chris.

At first, Deon neglected the call thinking it was a scam, as he was so connected to his brother.

But later, he could not hold it and felt bad for avoiding Amani. For the reality star, it was hard to process after learning the news. 

His brother's passing was already tough, especially for GG. So, he was overwhelmed with emotions and questioned the presence of Amani.

On the other hand, his mother, Marian Derrico, aka GG, felt it was her grandson.

GG has suffered from Cancer, and she lost her hope for living. While thinking she failed Chris in many areas, meeting Amani has given her a new purpose.

In the next week's episode, she calls Amani for a DNA test. On the video call, she asked, 'What do you feel about doing a DNA.' He replied he would be up for it.

Deon seemed confused and believed it would be heartbreaking for his mom if the young man didn't belong to their family.

In the new season trailer of Doubling Down With The Derricos, GG cried while hopping it's Chris's child and making sure it's her grandson.

When fans say he looks like GG and his older brother, Deon comments, 'The funny thing is this happened before, but unfortunately, that young man wasn't his, so we are hopeful.'
