Jordan Carlos wife Alina Lewis is a Doctoral Candidate at University at Albany, SUNY. Jordan and Alina are the proud parents of two kids.

Doctoral Candidate refers to a student who has completed the coursework and necessary examinations and is working on their thesis/dissertation or equivalent project. 

She obtained her bachelor's degree in 2001 from Smith College. Lewis then attended Brooklyn College and earned her Master of Arts.

She started her career in August 2006 as a history teacher and department chair at The Brooklyn Latin School. In September 2012, she became the school's assistant headmaster for teaching and learning.

In August 2015, Lewis joined the Relay Graduate School of Education in NYC as an assistant professor of practice and director of social studies education. She worked there until August 2021.

She is currently working on her thesis/dissertation.

Carlos and Buteau are very close friends and the hosts of the Adulting with Michelle Buteau and Jordan Carlos podcast.
